My first "painting" with my digital drawing tablet. So far also the only successful one... (And by successful I mean I am happy with what I accomplished even if it's not perfect!) Based on a pencil sketch from last year (2006) but done from scratch in Photoshop. (The tablet allows tracing but the image becomes slightly distorted for some reason so the trace wasn't much good.) Started out as an idea of how one could combine the bird part and the human part of the face into something else than the usual "small beak nose".

*not sure if I should put this as "mature" - she might be nude but all her parts are covered!*

Mature? I wouldn't, for that very reason, but... *shrugs*

Regardless, its a very interesting concept. I really like her beak; it actually does look birdlike and fits great with the hands and wings. The wings are good, too... its nice to see some ones with indistinct feathers, like on an actual bird.

What a frightening creature! -But one cannot judge a book by its cover I suppose. Neat!

I browsed through some other Harpy pics here on Elfwood after uploading this one, and was reminded that they're supposed to be smelly and generally obnoxious - and it wouldn't surprise me if this one is too 12"

I like this. Wonderful atmosphere and composition.

11 Charlotte Fire-Valkyrie Ahlgren replies: "  Glad you like it 2 I was trying to make it more "painted looking" than Photoshop images usually are - now of course I can see the ps brushes I used lol but I still like the result."

She looks like she’s going through a major physical transformation. She seems uncertain of who she’s becoming, but, she definitely feels ashamed or something of who she’s been, a woman. Hence, covering up the breasts. Either that or she’s just a stinkin’ harpy! ;-)

:-) Charlotte Fire-Valkyrie Ahlgren replies: "Well, the covered breasts have probably more to do with my modesty than with hers lol, so I think she’s just a stinkin’ ’arpie 12"

This is the best harpy I’ve seen on elfwood so far. I really love it. Colours are great, too

Very interesting with bird and human combined! I wish I had a computer-program that allowed me to create pctures like this. I found Your gallery because of Your kind remark on my gallery.

Your first digital, wow, way to go!

:-) Charlotte Fire-Valkyrie Ahlgren replies: "Well, first with a tablet 2 I did have some previous experience with trying to draw lines with a mouse pointer... (and I’ve done a lot of colouring of scanned work...) - Thanks for visiting and commenting! 2"

That is fantastic. I was actually trying to draw a harpy earlier ( was bored during an exam)... yours is better! I love the beaky-ness it works really well

:-) Charlotte Fire-Valkyrie Ahlgren replies: "I rather like that beak myself... 2 Thanks for all your comments!"
